2016 Malbec
Malbec is primarliy found in the Cahor region of France and more recently the winegrowing regions of Argentina. Also know as Cot this variety is know for its dark color and savory flavors. We sourced this fruit from Sothern Oregon where it was harvested in mid October at the peak of ripeness. Fermented in small T-bins, it was punched down 2-3 times daily for ultimate extraction. Macerated for 10days on skins then pressed to barrel for two years in 40% new French Oak.
A wine you will drink with your eyes! Dark Inky color invites you into this amazing big bold red. The nose leads off with Blackberry fruit and brambly notes backed by vanilla and cocoa and a touch of graphite. Soft leather tannins with brite acidity on the finish. This is a stunner and will be enjoyed for years to come.
We love Malbec with wild game such as a Elk or Venison loin with elderberry wine sauce and garlic mash potatoes.
